Christopher Carlin
Christopher Carlin started playing golf at the age of 5, and was first introduced to the game by his grandfather Ralph. His parents, Athena and Michael Carlin soon started entering him in local tournaments in South Florida and what started as a simple love for the game soon grew into an intense passion to compete. He started playing tournaments at the age of 7 and by the time he was fifteen he had earned Player of the Year honors on the Florida Junior Tour. During that same year, he competed in the U.S. Junior Amateur at the age of fifteen, and carded a first round 66 which would help him qualify into the Match Play portion of the tournament. Christopher attended American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida where he played under Head Coach Brandt Moser and was named First Team All County three years in a row for both the Sun Sentinel and The Herald. The four years of high school golf at American Heritage would soon setup great opportunities at the collegiate level. Christopher attended Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida on a Full Scholarship under the coaching and guidance of Jimmy Stobs. He would go on to win three individual collegiate titles, and compete in the National Championship with his team three out of the four years. In 2010, he would become the number one player on his team that was ranked #1 in the Nation which would earn him the title of Male Athlete of the Year at Barry University. He was named to the All Conference Team three years in a row, and the All Region Team two years in a row. He is a two time All- American being named both a Second Team All American and a First Team All American. To go along with Christopher's golf accomplishments, he excelled academically, while recently graduating from Barry University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management, and a Minor in Business. He was named a two-time Academic All American. Upon graduation, he decided to turn Professional and finished second in his first Pro Event on the West Florida Golf Tour, firing rounds of 73-67-68. Since then he has played multiple events on the Minorleague golf tour and posted a few Top 10 finishes. Not only does he enjoy competing, but he also enjoys giving back to young golfers which is why he has taken on the responsibility of being the Assistant Coach at his old high school for both the Boys and Girls Varsity Golf Teams. Christopher will compete on the Hooters Winter Series in Orlando, and hopes to continue to pass along the knowledge he has learned throughout the years to young up and coming golfers.
